Meet the Teacher

My name is Miss Courtney and I am so excited for you to be apart of our class this year. We are going to have so much fun and learn more than you ever thought possible.

I have attended school in Campbell County since I was in Kindergarten. Once I graduated from high school in 2006, I went on to attend Tennessee Technological University where I majored in Elementary education. Upon graduation from college I decided I would spend the summer increasing my knowledge and add to my teaching license. Once the summer was over I was officially licensed to teach K-8 grade and modified special education. My first year teaching I taught in a small school in Knox County where I was in a resource/special ed room. I came to LaFollette Elementary in 2013 where I taught 3rd grade for that school year. I am now beginning my 3rd school year in Kindergarten which I love.

Kindergarten is a very important year for your child. This year your child will learn many basic skills including letter recognition, sounds, and basic reading and math skills. Your child will also learn many new social skills this year including how to be a part of a learning community, share, and interactive positively with their classmates.

I am looking forward to working with you and your child to make this year the best ever for you and your child. I believe with your help your child can achieve many things this year. Thank you for the opportunity to teach and learn with your child. I look forward to getting to know them and you.
